Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery) Atlanta
Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. Blepharoplasty can be combined with BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.
The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia and lasts 45 minutes to a few hours depending on how much work is done. Incisions are made along the eyelids in inconspicuous places (in the creases of the upper lids, and just below the lashes on the lower lids). Dr. McCluskey removes excess tissue through these incisions and then stitches them closed with fine sutures. In the case that no skin needs to be removed, he will likely perform a transconjunctival blepharoplasty, where the incision is made inside the lower eyelid and there are no visible scars.
Stitches are removed after three or four days and most people return to work in ten. Contact lenses may not be worn for two weeks. The effects of blepharoplasty can last for a long time and are sometimes even permanent.

Otoplasty (Ear surgery) Atlanta
Otoplasty, or surgery of the ears, is a procedure used to reduce the size of ears or to set prominent ears back closer to the head. Ear surgery can be done on children or adults and help to make the head and ears look more symmetrical. This procedure can help to produce confidence in adults or avoid embarrassment in children with abnormally large or protruding ears.
The surgery can be performed using multiple techniques and usually takes about two to three hours. One technique involves the surgeon exposing the ear cartilage through a small incision on the back of the ear. The cartilage is then sculpted and bent back closer towards the patient’s head and excess cartilage is removed to yield more natural results. Some cases do not require the removal of cartilage, instead a small amount of skin is removed and stitches are then used to fold the cartilage back onto itself. Patients can expect a small scar on the back of the ear after surgery; in most cases this will diminish with time. Dr. McCluskey will work with each individual patient to determine the safest and most effective procedure to maximize results.
