During his extensive post-doctoral training, Dr. McCluskey received many awards for teaching and clinical excellence in the surgical field, including the prestigious Resident of the Year award for 4 consecutive years. One of the awards of which he is most proud remains the Veterans Affairs Hospital Award for Special Appreciation, received as a Chief Resident in General Surgery.
Dr. McCluskey was selected from among the top surgeon applicants in the country to enter the prestigious Plastic Surgery training program at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Upon completion of this rigorous training he and his family moved to Atlanta where he established the Plastic Surgery Institute of Atlanta adjacent to Northside Hospital.
